In the beginning

While growing up, we faced a lot of stress to prepare our favourite delicacies; Akara and Moimoi, it takes us the entire day to prepare moimoi in my house, from peeling, washing, taking it to the public grinding machine for grinding, getting home to commence cooking takes time.

Same with Akara, the roadside vendor in my community never have enough to serve all customers. We spend time queuing to buy without it reaching our turn and other customers.

Milestones

The Beginning

Started as a one-man team and currently have 5 staff, 5 ad-hoc staff, and 5 IT students that are attached to our company.

The Family Kitchen

Helencia Foods Limited started from the family kitchen 3 years ago but has been able to move into a stand-alone accredited production facility.

The First Batch

Our first batch of production was 10 mudus (10kg) raw material (beans) to 10 bags of 50kg (500kg) per batch of production currently.

Bean Flour: The First of 7

We started with only beans flour production and have grown into other seven (7) other products.

The Corporate Growth

We started as a micro business and have been upgraded to a small business category under NAFDAC categorization.

Domestic Growth Continues

We started with selling to only friends, colleagues, and families, to currently having distributors in the major cities in Nigeria also available in major supermarket across Nigeria.

Expanding Internationally

We started at selling to only local markets and growing to having our products in international markets as well.
